Sall Caulder is on the 1840 Telfair census, but no male in hh. There was a Daine(?) James Caulder who married Nancy McLane in Telfair on Dec 4, 1831. A Mary Caulder age 17, born Telfair on 1850 Telfair census. She could be sister to your William. Wheeler County was formed in 1862. It would have been Montgomery County when he died.
