I have Cornelius and Sarah Carpenter of Tattnall Co. having two daughters named Mary and Sarah Carpenter.

Mary Carpenter born 10 Aug 1823 married Solomon W. Osteen born 1833 on 31 Dec 1854 in Chatham Co., GA. Solomon W. Osteen died 28 Jan 1863 in a Confederate hospital at the intersection of Broughton & Jefferson St., Savannah, GA. Mary Carpenter died 16 Mar 1910 and is buried at Laurel Grove Cem., Savannah, GA. Sarah Carpenter was born 1818 and married William Bastion in Chatham Co., GA. Mary Carpenter Osteen had several children. I don't believe that Sarah Carpenter Bastion had any offspring. After both sisters became widowed they lived together in Savannah as seamstresses until, I assume, their deaths in Chatham Co.
