Flournoy's in Talbot County

I am trying to trace my great-great grandfather. I found him on the 1880, 1900, & 1910, listing him in Talbot county. His name was Simon Flournoy, married to Sallie Meadows. The problem I am running into is none of these census records show my great-grandfather who was born in 1885. On his death certificate it was listed his birth place was Alabama, but the information was obtained from my great-uncle, so I don't know how correct it was. I know they had to have migrated to Alabama and I can find my great grandfather on some of the Alabama censuses for the counties around where my father was born. I am stuck on a Simon Flournoy having a son named Joel (which was my great grandfather).... Anyone have information or suggestions? I live in GA, but Talbot is probably 100+ miles to where I live.

Thanks for any help.
