I have the obit of a Mrs Peggy Miller. The newspaper was dated Saturday 9 Feb 1895. It states:
Mrs Peggy Miller, and aged and highly esteemed woman living near Bottsford, in this county, died Friday morning after a long illness. She was more than seventy years of age and had raised a large family of children, one of whom was Mrs L B Forrest. The funeral will take place this morning at the cemetery in Bottsford. "Bottsford is in Sumter County, south of Plains. Bottsford Cem is also known as Rural Hill Methodist Cemetery."

I also have an obit of a Benjamin J Methvin 83 years old. He died 26 Jul 1925. He was a member of the 10th Georgia Battalion in the Civil War. It states he was buried in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cem in the 28th district. This is an error. It should have read Pleasant Grove Methodist Cem.

There is a Pleasant Grove Baptist Cem in Sumter Co, but it is in the 15th district.

I also have an obit for a Benjamin L Methvin, grand-son of Benjamin J. He died Wed 1 Aug 1917 at Portsmouth, VA. He is buried in Pleasant Grove Methodist Cem, 28th District.

If you will e-mail me your mailing address I will send these to you. They may not help, but who knows!
