Sorry I still can't help you. I am having more luck finding my Joneses now, have found a lot of them since I met two distant cousins researching the same Joneses. And there are some John Joneses in our line but have not run across one married to a Colbert. There was one Robert, either the son or stepson of a Williams of mine, but his wife was named Hattie Smith, I think. And there was a Frances/Francis in my line, the sister of my great-grandfather
I remember seeing a Seaborn Jones and a Henry Jones connected to Walton County, Georgia, but they don't seem to be my Henry and Seaborn, but could be related, I am sure my Joneses must have stopped off somewhere up in the northeastern part of Georgia before coming down to Early and Stewart Counties but my James seems to have been in Early before 1820, before 1809, actually, and I know there was a John Jones on the census there in 1820, too, but don't know if there was a connection.
Will let you know if I do come across your John and his wife. Good luck with your needles in the Jones haystack!!
