I'm looking for info on a John Stewart and his family who were in Stewart County, Ga. in 1850. I'm searching for my grt. grt. grandmother's (Rebecca Jane Stewart's) parents. I have searched many census records for various Ga. counties and found only one Rebecca, age 14, b: c 1836 Ga. to John & Elizabeth Stewart of Stewart County, Ga. who might be my ancestress. Can anyone help? My Rebecca Jane Stewart married in Fayette County, Ga. in 1851 to Rhodum Griggs. I would like to hear from anyone who is related to this family. I have my Griggs line documented but want to know more about my Stewart ancestors. The John Stewart I found in Stewart County, Ga. b: ca 1794 NC, married to Elizabeth b: c 1797 Ga. Children: 1. Francis b: c 1827 Ga., 2. Sherrin b: c 1832 Ga. 3. Adaline b: c 1834 Ga. 4. Rebecca b: c 1836 Ga, 5. Samuel b: c 1838 Ga. 6. P.Z. b: c 1840 Ga; 7. Maranda b: c 1842 Ga. Email me through this forum or at Type in Subject line: Stewart Family.
