Singer Family

We are trying to connect to the Singer Family that settled in Lumpkin, Stewart Co. GA. My family descends from Abram Singer who married on Dec. 26, 1858 in Chambers Co. AL to Mariah Williams -- daughter of George Williams and Burilla Hollis. Abram does not appear on a census until 1860. He states that he is from Russia. Later generations say that their father was born in Russia/Germany. Abram was born in 1833 and died in 1863 at Chattanooga during the Civil War.
Family tradition says that he immigrated with his brother who stayed in Georgia and that he went to see the Schuessler Family (Lewis and Mary Dasinger) in Chambers Co. AL whom his family knew before immigration. The census says they were born in Baden (Germany) Abram and Mariah had three children -- George Addis, Abraham Hugh, and Permelia Burilla. The two boys stayed in AL but Permelia who married Lewis Ripley Thrower in Chambers Co. in 1874 moved to Texas by 1895. I descend through her line, thus our lost connection with the Singer's in AL and perhaps GA. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
