I am searching for the place of birth and any other information regarding Richard Franklin born circa 1807 in GA and of Mitchell Franklin born circa 1805 in GA.
Richard Franklin married circa 1834 (where?) Frances ?? born circa 1818 in NC; was in Marshall Co, TN by 1840 census; both died 1865-70 in Lawrence Co, TN
Mitchell Franklin married circa 1828 (where?) Nancy Dodd born circa 1812 in Franklin Co, GA, died ??, daughter of Joel Dodd (born 1794 in Georgia and died Sept 1855 in Marshall Co, TN) and Derrias Croford; Mitchell Franklin was in the Lincoln Co, TN census in 1830 and was in adjacent Marshall Co, TN in 1840 and 1850 census.
Marshall Co, TN was created in 1836 from adjoining counties, including Lincoln Co, TN.
Richard and Mitchell are believed to be brothers. A possible relation to the two men is Docia (Dotio) Cross born circa 1790. She was living with Mitchell Franklin in the 1840 Marshall Co, TN census and was listed as age 40-50. She was living with Richard Franklin in the 1850 Marshall Co, TN census and was listed as age 60 born in VA. Perhaps she was a widowed sister?
