Gilhams in Stephens County

Hi List Watchers:

Wonder if there's anyone reading this list who has or has time to check your local library for information on the Gilham family.

I have copies of letters from two Gilhams, Benjamin and Thomas D. written to a cousin in Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois. One or both of them originated at least one or two of their letters from Stephens.

I believe there was mention of kinfolk being buried in Stephens County.

The progenitor of most of these Gilhams was Ezekiel (1732-1800) who was an elder at the Beth Salem Presbyterian Church in Lexington, Oglethorpe County, GA. He was said to have been buried in the Newton Chapel Churchyard, which, to date has not been located. This was said to have been in Lexington.

Can anyone help?
