4. WILLIAM2 FREEMAN (JOHN1) was born before 1768, and died abt. 1814 in Screven Co. GA. He married SARAH (Herrington?)

Notes for William & Sarah Freeman:
William and Sarah would have married about 1790/92. A William Freeman was a winner in the 1807 GA land lottery, he received a lot in Wilkerson Co. GA. He was living in Williamsonís district in Screven Co. during that time.

In 1815 Sarahís estate divided her deceased husband Williamís land between their children, 1/9th share each. Several of them then sold their shares of the land to Job Herrington of Screven Co. I have presumed that this means Job Herrington Jr., as I do not know when Job Herrington, Sr. died.
The given names Job, Abigail and Eleanor are all found in Job Herringtonís family.
These facts would indicate that Sarah Freeman (widow of William) may very well have been a member of the Herrington family.
Also it has been suggested that this Sarah Freeman was the daughter of Job Herrington Jr. b.c 1754 NC.
However given that this woman would have been born abt. 1765-70 and her children were born between 1790 and 1810, this researcher suggests that Sarah Freeman (widow of Wm.) could possibly be the sister of Job Herrington Jr. and Richard Herrington.
Job Herrington, Jr's daughter Sarah was born abt. 1814.

Children of WILLIAM FREEMAN and SARAH are,(not necessarily in birth order).

10.i.       JOHN3 FREEMAN b. abt. 1794-d. bef. 1870 Jefferson Co. FL. Married Mary ?.
Note: There is a marriage in Richmond Co. GA for a John Freeman and a Mary Shermon in 1822. John moved to Jefferson Co. FL abt. 1830 and is living near his brother Job Freeman.

ii.       ABIGAIL FREEMAN, m. DALY GREENE 1825.

iii.       SARAH FREEMAN b abt. 1792, m. LEWIS LEWIS (also b. abt. 1792) before 1814 in Screven Co. . Birth years calculated using the 1850 Screven Co. census, in whicxh Sarah & Lewis are age 58. Marriage year calculated going by daughter Mary Freemanís birth year 1814/1815.
Lewis shows in 1820 Screven census with three young daughters.

11.iv.       JOB FREEMAN, b. 1800, Screven Co. Georgia; d. 1867, Leon Co. FL.
Job married 1) Rebecca Rawls 1823 Wayne Co. GA. Married 2) Mary McDonald 1856 Leon Co. FL

v. NANCY (Anne?) FREEMAN b. abt. 1802 , m. JOHN CHESSON 1817.

vi. RACHEL FREEMAN b. abt. 1804

vii. WILLIAM FREEMAN b. abt. 1806, m. SARAH BUTLER.

Notes for William Freeman: A William J. Freeman received a lot in the 1821 GA land lottery in Monroe Co. jointly with his sister Eleanor Freeman. He also was living in Bufords district in Screven Co. at the time. He qualified as an orphan in that lottery. Was living in Dooly, Co., GA in 1843. Shows there in the 1840 census also.

vii. ELEANOR FREEMAN b. abt. 1808, m. LODOWICK ANDREWS 1824.

Notes for Eleanor Freeman: Eleanor received a lot of land in the 1821 GA land lottery in Monroe Co. GA, jointly with her brother William Freeman. She qualified as an orphan for the lottery. She lived in Bufords district Screven Co. at the time.
