Tonya,

You are most welcome. I see here there are several of us who are most happy to assist with information from our town. :)

What a coincidence. I was born in NYC but raised here in Augusta, Ga. since I was a baby.

It's a good big, little town with much to see at all times. If not in special events held annually, then visiting and revisiting historic sites and gardens. If you love doing research, the various libraries here in town (including this Augusta State University Reese Library that I work in) will occupy you for a number of hours. The historic Laney-Walker Blvd. area where Bishop Grace's church is located is a wonderful place to explore. The Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History and its period garden is one of our featured tourish attractions in town. They also have a lot of historical data as well. Was there anything else specific you may want to know about Augusta as far as visiting or research, Tonya?

You can see parts of the "Augusta Magazine" on their web site of www.augustamagazine.com. They have historical as well as current event articles about Augusta. Their subscription and phone information is on their site.

In looking for more Augusta information, please also check out the web site of the Augusta Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau at www.augustaga.org. They can provide you with various brochures and maps of Augusta.

Let me know what other information you may need, Tonya.

Best,

Lillian
