Ollie Mae Hayden was born in Augusta, GA, in 1905, daughter of Harpin Riggs Hayden and Rachel Sheldonia Johnson. (According to Ollie Mae's SSI application) She married Thomas Hanley, and was mother to Jack Hanley (still living) and Gloria Hanley Corgliano (D. Rome, NY 1992).
QUERIES: Anybody know anything about Rachel Sheldonia Johnson??? In all the genealogies I've seen, we can trace Harpin Riggs Hayden's roots back to the Paleozoic Era but there's nothing on Rachel Sheldonia Johnson. We believe her daughter "Doney" is still living in Augusta,in her 90's. But we can't find her.
ALSO..in all the genealogies I've seen, Harpin & Rachel are listed as having 3 children, NONE of whom are Ollie Mae. Any ideas?? It's making us nuts. Rachel Sheldonia Johnson may have been Cherokee.
