Creek cession of May 20, 1733.
Organized in 1758 as Parish of St Paul.
Richmond Co created May 5, 1777.

Parish of St Paul was later divided into the following counties:
Wilkes, Richmond, Columbia, Elbert, Taliaferro, Oglethorpe, Cherokee, Lincoln.
