In CHRONICLES OF THE SCOTCH-IRISH SETTLEMENT IN VIRGINIA (Augusta County)...1745-1800 ...by Chalkley, the WATERS listed below are shown. Does anyone know what WATERS family they are from? Would appreciate any information. Matthew, Collinson, and George WATERS show up in the early records of what was then Cherokee Indian Territory, now Jackson/Banks/Hall Counties in GA, by the late 1700's. Mathew WATERS served on the first jury, 1797, in Jackson County, GA. Some of the WATERS were in Union District, SC, others in Wilkes Co., GA, also in the late 1700's. They were in the Richmond Co., Augusta, area. Thomas WATERS was a Tory and owned property in the Augusta, GA, area. Mathew If anyone has information about marriage records - or anything at all - on any of these, Richard WATERS Many thanks,
