I am searching for a Patrick Dutton family that originated in SC, possibly the Edgefield area. I have found a P. Dotton on the 1820 and 1824 Richmond, Ga census. This Patrick Dutton is said to have been Cherokee and he may have been a medicine man. Families that are connected are Weavers, Prince, Rose, Garner, Fowler, Buck, Sutherland, Dotson, and Chesney. Benton is a name that is used repeatedly as a middle name in the Dutton men. Will share what I have.
