This letter was written Feb. 7th 1893, by my ggrandfather, ISOM EVANS YOUNGBLOOD to his son, my grandfather, ISAAC SAMUEL YOUNGBLOOD.

Dear Sam Yours of the 4th received and was glad to hear from you all.
I am glad Ollie is doing well. You had better be carefrul if you have had the grippe or you will take pneumonia. I will try to explain to you about that land Old Grand pa Isham Evans bought about 10 acres of land there near Hawks Gully about 1840 and lived there awhile Idont know how long finally he moved to Jeff. Co. to over see and died after 13 years on the Jones place near Louisville and is burried in L-Jeff Co. When he left Augusta[Richmond Cty] he let his Brother Tom Evans live on the place. It was but a small Town then. I suppose he rented it to his brother Tom. Any way when Grand Pa[Isham Evans] died Lad Evans his son Administrator on the estate.Lad ran a whiskey store there in Louisville and old man Tom Evans was still living. I have seen him but never did see G. P.[Isham Evans].He died before I was born. I suppose uncle Lad just let him [Tom Evans] remain unmolested on the place. Uncle Tom Evans had 3 sons- John, Nathan and Isham. John and Nathan both died in the war. Isham came out to see Mother[Phalba EvansYoungblood] and spent 2 weeks the year the war closed. They were all dead then but him and the Old Lady and I think she was his step-mother. I think old man Tom was married twice. Any way he was the only air of the Evans family - at that time living in Augusta[Richmond Cty]. I dont know what ever became of him. Abe Youngblood dont know.Me and Uncle Gus Y[Youngblood] talked about him and we went up to A[Augusta,Richmond Cty.]once before you was born but could not find any trace of him. If Uncle Tom had any girls I never heard of them. Grand Pa Evans had 4 girls and 2 boys. Lucy married John E, Uncle Toms son and died without any airs. She is burried there in Augusta. Phalba was Mother and Mary was Abe Youngbloods Mother. Two Brothers married two Sisters. Aunt Elizabeth married Leasley Wimberly of Burke Co. She has one son Tom Wimberly. Uncle John Evans of Texas and Lad Evans was his[Isham Evans]sons. Abe[Youngblood]is the same heir to Grand Pa[Isham Evans] that I am and I am certain there was no will made by G. P.[Isham Evans]. You work it up if you can. If Abe[Youngblood] has the papers you can get them.
Your Pa Pa,
I.E.Y.[ISOM EVANS YOUNGBLOOD]

If anyone has information about anyone in this letter please contact me.
