Hi Ann,
I asked my mother about The Singing Kings.
She said they were related to Alma King Cliett. There were 4 (I think) sisters that sang together all around the Augusta area. Alma did not sing, but was an elementary school teacher. My mother showed me a newspaper article (we will begin looking for it now)about them years ago. The article probably dated from the 40's (that's a guess)or earlier and was most likely from the Augusta Chronicle. When I get the article I will let you know. The reason my grandparents saved the article is because my great grandmother was a King and Alma King (my mother's elementary school teacher ) always told my mother that they were related although they did not know how. I know that Alma's family is the John Thomas and John Wesley Kings'. I have not been able to connect to them unless somehow her(Alma's) John Thomas and my James Thomas or Allen King are related.
Hope this helps,
Frances Stone Breazeale
