Randolph was formed 1828 from Baker & Lee--- I find marriages missing even in 1850- (Mine to Elias Aycock and Elizabeth Cheshire-that I was given the date on by family-but lickily they married during the census-and the census taker got her in both homes.) Cooks' Elias brother Eli-married 1841 Randolph-Martha Cook-so I did a little research on that surname in Randolph- The 1830 census for Randolph County includes these Cooks: John Cook 3 males under 5 1 male between 5 and 10 1 male between 10 and 15 1 male between 30 and 40 1 female between 5 and 10 1 female between 20 and 30 Dempsey Cook 1 male under 5 2 males between 20 and 30 1 female between 20 and 30 ABOVE ARE ON PAGE 248 Mary Cook 2 males between 15 and 20 2 males between 20 and 30 1 female between 50 and 60 ABOVE IS ON PAGE 249 On the Randolph County census for 1840: Nathan Cook 1 male under 5 1 male between 5 and 10 2 males between 15 and 20 1 male between 60 and 70 3 females under 5 1 female between 5 and 10 1 female between 10 and 15 1 female between 20 and 30 1 female between 40 and 50 ABOVE IS ON PAGE 247. 1860 Randolph Co.
