Another researcer, Susan Allan, wrote this to me: "Edward "Ned" Harriss b. 1746 married to Mary Polly Johnson b. 1746 in Buncombe Co. NC. Supposedly the parents of Elizabeth "Betsy" Harriss b. 1794 in Buncombe NC. But look at the years span on that. Her mother would have been 48 when she was prenant, which is unlikely." Hope this helps. Did you find the Hollifields in Clayton? They did live there and married into the Derricks. Paula
