I'm not sure if he was the first or only Derrick, but Charles William Derrick was b in NC in 1820. He married Elizabeth Quarles in Rabun GA 6 Jul 1843. They had 9 children, and then Elizabeth died in childbirth in 1860 and Charles died in the Civil War in 1863. Their children can be seen living with Elizabeth's parents in Pickens SC in 1860. ---------------------------------------- 1850 Georgia Census Rabun County Charles Derrick, Farmer, Age 30, Born in N.C. One of their daughters, Elizabeth Quarles, born about 1826, married Charles W. Derrick in Rabun County on 4 July 1843. After having several children, Elizabeth died during childbirth in March 1860. Charles then died at Camp Douglas, Illinois in 1863. I am searching the whereabouts of these Derrick children in the 1860 and after census. Some of the chidren were Patsy, Artimissa, John, Anny J., Susan, Carolina, Margaret and Charles. I think they went to the Pickens County, SC area to live with Hubbard and Arttimissa and family. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks David Hill ---------------------------------------------- Notify Administrator about this message?
