Needing some help-
My 5th gr grandfather is listed on this schedule
however it was not mentioned what he died from.
was listed he only lived there 3yrs and was a farmer and
died in March of 1880. We have no idea as to why he
was in GA. As we could find not other Turner familys
living in this area. However there were a few turner
children living near by in other peoples homes.(Beck and
Dockins) we also dont know if he was related in anyway
to them.
He has been a very mysterious person. As all leads
seam to point to a dead end. What we have found is
that he was first found living in Greenville Co SC
during 1830's living close by him was a Felix Turner
and Alfred Turner.(Have not found anything to indicate
any kind of connection to one another). He was also living
by a Duke Willam Glenn. Duke and him were found going
to court over a dispute. Next we find him living in
Pickens Co SC during 1850 again he was listed as Picken
Turner and wife Sarah. On 1860 Census for Eastoe area
he was listed as A.P. Turner and wife Sally.
We do know he had some children: Malinda Turner who married
Josiah Chapman of Pickens Co. SC(Malinda's hospital records
dont indicate who her parents were) then we find his
other daughter who married a man named andrew J Mathis.
susan and Andrew married in Jackson Co. NC(they ended
up a dead end)no further info could be found.
Then we recieve a indian application-Guion Miller Roll
that his son filed: but was denied. His son was listed
as John "Andrew" Turner who lived in Oconee during early
1900's. States his father was Pick Turner who died in
1880. Then states his sisters as Malinda and Elizabeth
Chapman. That Pickens first wife-was 1/2 Cherokee indian:
listed her as Sas. A Syzmore Sisemore/Sizemore?
Sally/Sarah A. Sizemore. Then goes on and says his mother
is Vina Beardon/Bearden(Dina/Diana Bearden?)Mother:Sucky?
He list his children: Julia Ann Turner,thomas Turner,
Minnie Lee Turner. According to the dates on all of
these people-i cant find anyone remotly close to those
dates. Everywhere ive turned-i come back empty handed.
So is there anyone who can tell me-how i might find out
where he is buried-if the state buried him,or a kin member.
Or if he owned land there. Where or how might i go about
finding something like this out.
Any help or suggestions-
