I don't know when he was born but he married a woman named Degary SAMS(b.1855). He died in Clayton, Rabun Co., GA abt. 1909. They had 7 children: Dutch, George, Glenn and Gould (twins), Paul, Willie Effie (my ggrandmother), and Herschel. I believe he was a dentist. The name was changed to HANSON sometime after James died. I would appreciate any information at all about him, his ancestors or descendants. Clayton Baptist Church Cemetery: Clayton, Rabun Co., GA; Glen V. York"; "She was a kind and affectionate wife, a fond mother and a friend to all." John Malvin York; 25 Aug 1863-26 Jul 1936; "Life's work done, he rests in peace." This is probably the Sams family in 1880: note that 'Paran' may be 'Degary' or perhaps it is a nickname for one of the other children: Household: Name Relation Marital Status Gender Race Age Birthplace Occupation Father's Birthplace Mother's Birthplace Anson B.
