Jordan Family, Rabun Co., GA

While home over the Thanksgiving holiday, I found the will of John F. Jordan. I was not able to copy the entire document, but I did jot down his heirs. The will is in Will Book A, 1860-1868; this book is also known as Minutes of the Ordinary's Office 1860-1868. The will was on pages 68 through 71 and was proven in December 1859. All of the information below, including the names of John's sons-in-law, was included in the will, although not necessarily in the order given:

Wife: Mary Jordan

Children: Harriet M. Smith, John Jordan (deceased), Joseph Jordan, Margaret K. Arrendale (wife of Joseph), Mary B. Watts (wife of John), Sarah G. Shirley (wife of Yong J.), Elephore R. Singleton (wife of John), Frances E. Hollifield (wife of Dillard M.), Amanda E. Russel (wife of Elijah)

Grandchildren: heirs of son John Jordan, deceased; Sarah Russel and John M. Russel, children of daughter Margaret K. Arrendale

Please do not e-mail me directly about this will. I do not have further information about most of these people; what I do have on them will be on my web sites.
