Our Copelan's moved from Greene Co., GA in late 1920's to
Putnam Co., GA. The following is my research on Richard Copeland for the Putnam Co. Bicentennial.

Fork GMD 367, Putnam Co., GA. Richard T. Copeland and wife Sarah Dunn lived next to the family of Robert Moseley and wife Penelope Tally in the Old Edgefield District, S. C.
Three of the Moseley siblings married three of the Copeland siblings and relocated to Putnam Co., GA when Richard and Sarah moved here in 1800. Richard (d. 1823), Sarah and daughter-in-law Penelope Moseley (d. 1844), wife of John Thomas Copeland, died in Putnam County. Penelope is buried on what was known as the old Cook place now the Georgia Experiment Station. Richard and John Thomas Copeland owned land on Indian Creek in the Fork District.
