My ancestors, Richard Copeland, his wife Sarah, and a second wife whose name I do not know, all died in early Putnam Co. GA.
Richard Copeland died in 1823. His first wife, Sarah, died prior to that, and his 2nd wife much later.
There is one reference to the fact that son John Thomas Copeland lived 8 miles from Eatonton. We believe that his father Richard lived in Putnam County not far from the county line. I do not know the death date of his second wife.
What would be the most likely cemeteries from that early era? Some of the family had been Quakers, some were Methodist, others I have no idea.
Any suggestions appreciated.
