Robert-- Thank you for your response. I am now more confused that ever. Some genealogist think that "my" Phoebe Tucker Moreland's father was a Francis Moreland while others seem to think it is a Joseph Moreland.
Here is what I have: Francis Moreland (b. abt 1734, Lincoln Co.,NC d. 30 Mar 1797) m. Martha Turner.
Dau Phoebe Tucker Moreland (b. abt 1776 Dinwiddie Co., VA. d. bef 1850 Putnam Co., GA) m. Nathaniel Milton Sadler. Both are buried in Sadler Cemetery on old Sadler (later Dawson) Plantation but cemetery is almost completely gone with no apparent engraved markers and no evidence of who else may be buried there.
(Phoebe born in VA is possibly inconsistent with Francis born in NC as few moved north to VA from NC??)
I am going to Putnam Co shortly to visit the restored homeplace of Nathaniel Milton Sadler and Phoebe Tucker Moreland. My understanding is that a Moreland plantation was once adjacent (now part of National Forest). I also plan to visit 2 cemeteries that are supposed to have Morelands buried there (Central Church Cemetery (nearby) and Jefferson Church Cemetery (long shot as it is on other side of county). Will also look for other names you are interested in who you believe may be buried there if you provide me with info.
