I remember Mr. Ellis. Everyone referred to him as Bubba Ellis. I believe Mr. Ellis was transferred to Putnam Co., GA by the State Highway Dept. now called GA Dept. of Transportation. I think his wife was a school teacher and is also deceased. I don't remember her name.
I do remember that they lived in a house on Lake Sinclair very close to SR 441. They are both probably buried in the city cemetery. If you contact our local library there should be a book on the Pine Grove Cemetery. The next time I visit the library I'll look for you, but it will be anytime soon. Mr. Ellis worked out of the Tennille District Office of the Trans. Dept. I doubt seriously if there is anyone still employed that remember him. There are some retired employees that worked for Mr. Ellis that could answer your questions if they so choose. I'll send you their addresses by email. You can write to GA Dept of Transportation, P. O. Box 8, Tennille, GA 31089 and ask. Guess you can tell that I'm also retired from GDOT.
