Gerry, I found the following in a book I have on inter-library loan. Maybe you alreay have seen this book or have this info, but here it is. Taken from "Early Records of Putnam Co., Georgia - 1807-1860" by E. F. Hull of Ashland, Alabama. excerpt from Will Book B - 1822-1857:
"Martha Kendrick. Daughters, Betsy A. Kendrick, Priscilla Goode. Son, Meredith. Grandchildren, John W. Carter, William B. Carter, Walton T. Carter, ROBERT M. CARTER. Son-in-law, Lewis Wright and John Monk. WW March 6, 1822. WP May 6, 1822."
Also found in the cemetery section of the book, a Mrs. M. L. Carter born January 25, 1845, died March 4, 1912. Next to her was Elisha C. Carter, Co. L. 3 GA Inf. CSA, but I couldn't tell what cemetery that was in. On a map that was in the book, it looked like it might have been Wesley Chapel, which was slightly northeast of Eatonton. Don't know if that was your Marth Lane Carter or not. Also found the marriage of Robert M. Carter to Martha L. Collinsworth on December 7, 1837, listed. Other Carter marriages were: Thomas Carter to Sally Hawkins on May 25, 1809; George Carter to Mehaney Waller on Jan. 27, 1820; K. Carter to Bethinia Kimbrough May 22, 1825; John W. Carter to Elizabeth Langford December 16, 1829; William B. Carter to oAriadna Abercrombie Oct. 3, 1830; Benjamin F. Carter to Rachel Mariah Greer on Aug. 2, 1832, and then probably a second marriage for William B. Carter - to Susan Emma Clark on Jan. 27, 1857, and a third marriage for him to Addie E. Clark on Oct. 26, 1865.
Hope some of this helps.
Sue Howard (remember me - searching for Ezekiel Brown, Emily Brown, and my great grandmother, Amanda M. Brown)
