First Lieutenant Robert E. Oxford of Concord
Posted by: Gary Zaetz (ID *****6442) Date: September 08, 2007 at 01:33:52

Is anyone familiar with First Lieutenant Robert E. Oxford of Concord, Pike County, Georgia? Lt. Oxford was a World War II MIA who was lost in 1944 on the same Army Air Force aircraft as my uncle, 1st Lt. Irwin G. Zaetz. My information is that Lt. Oxford's father was Mr. Charles E. Oxford, Route One, Concord, Georgia. Within the past year, the wreckage of this aircraft was discovered in a remote part of northeastern India. My family is trying to find relatives of the missing crewmen to persuade the Department of Defense to send a recovery team to the site of the wreckage. Any information on Lt. Oxford would be greatly appreciated.
