Hello, my name is Richard W. Rogers. I am interested correspondence with anyone interested in these Rogers families. There was/is more than one. My family ties also reach out to many other Georgia Counties. I have recently visited Barnesville, Zebulon, and Thomaston and met some very nice people at the courthouses, cemeteries and in the Archives at Thomaston. I would like to make contact with any living Rogers who have roots in Georgia back to the early to mid. 1800s; particularly the ones who are still in the area. One Rogers family owned and operated an "Cotton Factory" (the "Thomaston Factory") on Potato Creek just a bit West of Thomaston. Another family (the Kendalls)to whom I am related owned a plantation named "Bellwood" that was situated to the East of Thomaston on/near Tobler Creek. My Gr Gr Grandfather Rev. R.W.Rogers married Fannie Esther Eubank and they finally settled in a house which still stands in beautiful condition just west the Ebenezer Methodist Church where they were members. Other family surnames (some by marriage to my lines) are: Kendall Lockett Lane Dickson Rogers Eubanks Maddox/Maddux Tilley McCrary Farley. I would also like to make contact with the current owners of what was "Bellwood" (the Kendall Plantation) and what was "Mount Zephyr" (the Rogers family home/plantation). I understand that "Mount Zephyr" was located where the "Thomaston Factory" (Rogers Factory / Cotton Factory)once stood before "Wilson's Raid". This would be about 2-3 miles West of Thomaston on Potato Creek. Any direction to finding living relatives would be appreciated. Thank you all for taking the time to read this.
