Richard Fox Taylor Second Chief of the Cherokee Nation born Feb. 10, 1788 died June 15, 1853. He is buried at the Tahlequah Cemetery, Tahlequah, OK.
Anna Taylor Townsend and Edward Townsend, SR were my 5th Great-grandparents. For thirty years I have heard and read that Anna was the daughter of Chief Richard Fox Taylor. Just recently I saw a picture of his gravestone and am totally confused by this story. Chief Richard Fox Taylor is buried at:

Anna Taylor Townsend b. 30 April, 1790,
also her birth is listed as 30 Apr. 1796 in Ballground, Cherokee Co., GA

d. 9 Sept.1838 in Cherokee Co., GA Tate, GA

Richard Taylor's birth is 1788...Anna's birth is 1790/96. If these dates are correct, then he couldn't be her father. Please advise me about your most recent research.
