Are there any other Johnson's descended from Edward Johnson (1817-1883) who lived in Jasper, GA. working to find our his family in the Carolina's?
I have found some information noting his parent's as:
John Joseph Daniel Johnson (1783-1870) born in either North or South Carolina and died in Union County, Georgia
Melissa Cain (1784 - 1860) born in South Carolina and died in Union County, Georgia. They had 12 children, of which Edward was their 5th child. They were married abt. 1802 in North Carolina.
John Johnson also married twice after Melissa: Susan Cloringer and Caston Carter. Two other children were born to John & Susan: James Johnson & Sarah Johnson. No children were born to John and Caston.
I'm hoping there is someone that can maybe help me find out who John's parents were and if these Johnson's might be related to the Johnson family that migrated from Virgina to the Carolina's and then on the Georgia.
