The Fourteenth Sosebee National Reunion [a family reunion that is held every other year] will be June 24th., 25th., and 26th, 2005 at the Best Western[Lanier Center] at 400 E. Butler Parkway, Gainesville, Georgia 30501, telephone 1-800-782-8966. The Sosebee's settled in the Habersham Co., Georgia area in about 1821 from Spartanburg, South Carolina and then their families spread throughout the United States from there. There are several variations of the spelling of Sosebee such as Solesbee, Sosby, Sosbee and Soesbee but all these spellings usually trace their family back to South Carolina and North Georgia. All connected families are welcome to come to the reunion. There are family displays, entertainment, and genealogy information, along with a copy machine, printer and computer.
