Re: Old Pumpkinvine Cemetery

A couple of years ago I visited the Pumpkinvine Church, where the pastor was very friendly and helpful. He directed us to the Lane Cemetery where a number of my Adair ancestors are buried. He said that the church maintained this cemetery, and it was indeed very well kept. I thought that he said that they also maintained the Gann Cemetery, but I might be mistaken. I think there are Adairs buried there as well. He said that the ground around the church was too hard for a cemetery.

Are you related to Bozeman Adair?

I found a very neat map online showing the old and new church sites and the old cemetery, but I can't print it or even copy it to a word file.

Try http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~freehouse/New%20Adair%20Web%20Site/Maps/Georgia/Pumpkinvine%20Map.jpg

I looked at the area between the Lane and Gann cemeteries on Google Maps, and it has been laid out for a subdivision with paved streets but no houses.

I would be interested in seeing your pictures.
