Phil, thanks for this! This is definitely the family I am researching, I have family records of the marriage of William James Tidwell to Mary Ellen Clonts; references to 'Uncle Shep Tidwell' (Shepherd Asbury Tidwell), one of the descendent daughters is named Mayo. Now I am sifting through all the different stories on the ancestry of Benjamin and William (the orphans who settled Georgia). I have read several postings on GenForum, and your web site. It is becoming very confusing. Hopefully you can help! I would like your professional opinion (or your best guess) as to the line from Benjamin and William Tidwell to Warren Tideswell b.1238 England - if there is indeed a line to connect. Thank you in advance! Susan Tidwell, GA
