Charles Henry Gilley, b. 1834 in Carrol Co., GA, appears on the 1850 and 1860 census of Paulding Co.,GA. He married Sarah M. (?) about 1856. In 1860, they were living in Dallas Township, with 2 children: Mary b. ca 1858, and Martha born March 1860. Charles Henry Gilley joined Company "k" of the 60th GA Infantry and died of wounds recieved at the Battle of Fredericksburg in 1862. His widow, Sarah, later remarried and moved to TX. I don't have her whereabouts after her husband's death until 1880 when she was living in Milam Co., TX with her husband Joshua Smith. I'm particularly interested in finding Sarah's maiden name and parents. Sarah M. was born in GA ca. 1837, and according to the 1880 census, her father was born in GA and her mother in SC. She married Charles Henry Gilley abt 1856. Haven't found a marriage record.
