Reread your posting..the lst message was incomplete..looks like the same family..I didn't have info that Nancy had a prior marriage. I will study this more..this line is new to my research..I am eager to solve this one..I found my notes..Nancy McClains father: Thomas McClain(McLain0 b. 12-2-1790 Oglethorpe Co., Ga. d. 7-19-l855 m. lst Elizabeth ? last name unknown, 2nd wife (waiting on that info from another source), 3rd wife, Nancy Carter, her father, Robert Carter. This branch is on my mothers side, married into Pierces , Griffins, Davis, Laniers, and others..then you mentioned Angus McLain m. Mary McInnis, parents I don't have, they only had two children, son, John Alexander b. l864 G. , d. after l880 Greene Co., Miss. and I don't have my notes on his sister..I'll have to find that for you..I was wondering if these two McClain(McLain is the way they spell it here) were related? The McLains are a large family here between Mobile and Miss. State Line. There are at least two groups and they may be related and don't know it..Pat The second set of McLains are a branch on my fathers side..coincidence?
