Henry T. Woody died 15 November 1812 in Chesterfield Co., VA. He was a resident of Oglethorpe Co., GA and husband of Keziah Jennings, daughter of Miles Jennings and Susannah Hanby.

Henry's obituary was recently located in 2 newspapers in Richmond, VA. They state that Henry T. Woody, of Oglethorpe Co., GA, died on the 15th of Nov. 1812 in Chesterfield Co., GA of a "long and painful disease". The only other Woody in Chesterfield Co., VA was Samuel Woody (1778-1856), and Henry is believed to be Samuel's brother. However, the identity of their parents is unknown. Due to distruction of county records in the Richmond, VA area during the Civil War, very few remain.

Henry T. Woody had one son, Samuel Rockingham Woody/Wooddy born in 1804 and died in 1863 in Chambers Co., AL. Samuel married Lorene Jones Sanders Stamps, and they had 14 children.

If you are a male descendant of Samuel R. Woody with the Woody/Wooddy surname, your assistance is greatly needed to help determine the ancestors of Henry T. Woody. If you are willing to take a simple DNA test, please let me know. Thanks,Phyllis Porter
