I am not an expert at genealogy by no means, just one who has worked on it off and on for a number of years. It looks like you have gotten off to a sound start.
I don't remember seeing much, or anything, on the web about your John Vines Collier. I do see him included on a couple of family sheets for William and Sarah Powell Collier.
You will find that in those earlier days the Collier, Vines and Smith families did a lot of marrying each other. My line weaves back and forth through these lines. I have been working on the Vines line as well, if you haven't done that yet.
