I pulled out my family tree chart..Walter Monroe Griffins mother was Rachael Pierce, sister to Temperance Pierce, his grandmother. Rachael married Archibald "Irish" Mitchell Griffin, and his father, Rev. John Patrick Griffin married Termperance "Tempy" Pierce . Walter Monroe Griffing married Nancy Pauline Tanner, daughter of Andrew Tanner, youngest son of John Madison Tanner. Nancys' mother, Mary Ann Davis was the daughter of James Davis and Nancy Abagail Pierce, daughter of Jeremiah and Nancy McLain. I'm putting out all the queries I can, like yourself and many others..We have Elizabeth McLain daughter of John Alexander McLain on my fathers grandmothers line, son of Angus McLain and Mary McInnis..since they ended up in the same geographical area Miss.Alabama/Miss. Territory early on..I'm wondering if these McLain or MClains are related..if Nancy might be Angus sister? He had a sister ..also I see a lot of connection between McInnis, wife of Angus McLain and McLains.Pat
