Researching John Holmes and brother William Holmes-lived-oglethorpe cty, 1850

I am doing some research for some Holmes cousins in Texas. I have traced their ancestry back to John Holmes-age 30 in 1850 and possibly brother William Holmes-age 37 in 1850 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia in 1850. There was also a Sarah Holmes, widow living in close proximity to the two brothers-age 62-possibly their mother. Would like to hear from anyone researching this family. May have had family ties to Ogilvie family as 3 Ogilvie siblings were living with this family in DeSoto Parish, Lousiana by 1860. Cousins say their great grandfather, James W. Holmes' wife married an Ogilvie who was his cousin.
