“The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. BARFIELD died Wednesday afternoon at their residence on Fourteenth street. The funeral took place yesterday morning, the interment being at Clapp’s factory.
[Columbus (GA) Daily Enquirer-Sun, Friday, 19 SEP 1902, 8. As as matter of coindicence, this item appears in the same column on the same day as the burial notice for John Franklin HUMPHREYS.]
I am interested in learning more about the background and family connections of Mr. & Mrs. J. A. BARFIELD. On my mother's side we are connected to a ROYALS / RYALS family who married into a BARFIELD family (Chattahoochee / Marion Counties), and my father had an aunt who married a BARFIELD (Talbot / Upson Counties) - thanks! jml
