Early Records, Funeral Homes and Newspapers in 1900

Does anyone have access to Newspapers from Columbus, January 9, 1900? Any ideas about where to look for information on a relative who was visiting or working in Columbus in January 1900, and died there? Would there be a funeral home there who would have handled sending the body back to Macon, Georgia for burial? There were no Death Certificates, but would there have been any record of this; if so what would they be? Any help or ideas on this would be appreciated. Glenda Smith
