Dear Shirley,

I have one Barrachias Massey who was born Abt. 1779 in Wake Co., NC. He died Abt. 1850 in Muscogee Co., GA., m. Abt. 1801 in GA, Byrda Williams, b. Abt. 1786 in NC.

Barrachias Massey and Byrda Williams were the parents of John Ross Massey, b. March 27, 1821, in Washington Co., GA page 376 1850 GA Census. John Ross died November 19, 1898 in San Antonio, Texas., he married May 25, 1842 Elizabeth Bailey, b. March 01, 1826, Walton Co., GA d. April 30, 1884.

As it turned out, this was not my husband's Massey family and this is as far as I went.

Judge Massey published several volumes on the Massey family, Ask your librarian if a library near you has his volumes.

My husband's great-grandparents were William Edward Wells & Martha Ann Massey who came to Crenshaw County, Alabama in 1866 from Muscogee Co., GA.

Best regards,
Rosie Morein Wells
Birmingham, AL
