Cullan Lee and his brother Crowel f. Lee left Georgia after the Civil war about 1865 ,and migrated to Alabama . We know this cause Crowel's first child was born in 1866 in Alabama.Crowel Lee is also found in the confederate Georgia records as C.F. Lee Capt. Edward Croft's Lt.artillery unit of Columbus Georgia. This unit was formed of men out of Moscogee and Russel counties . Crowel was married probably early 1865 in Georgia .
Crowel Lee and his wife Sarah Whitehorn who used the nickname Sallie, Crossed the Black Warrior river to Tuscaloosa Area . Cullan Lee's Oxen would not cross the river so he went toward Brookwood . We do not know for sure where he wound up at. We do not know if Cullan was even married . Both are told to be Confederate soldiers . I have found documents on Crowel Lee and Sarah or Sallie Lee. I have only family tales for Cullan Lee , but i won't give up for i have found most family tales come true if you look for them. I would like to contact any of Cullan Lee's decendancy his name might have been Collan to don't know for sure.
We are also looking for their parents . According to census records of Alabama the Lee boys parents might have come from South Carolina , but the brothers were born and served in Georgia and at least one was married thier.
Crowel was born April 4, 1836 and died April 3, 1908 . I have no dates on his brother Cullan Lee. I estimate his father was born around the year 1815 not for sure though .
It is family Lore that either the Lee brothers Grandparents or gr Grandparents came from Virginia. It is also family lore that thier is Cherokee blood and Choctaw Blood in the Lee line . if you can help please contact me at .
