Hubert PLESS & parents: Emmett PLESS & Florence JONES

I would be grateful if anyone could help with this mystery:

I have been trying to find out who this Hubert PLESS is for a while. I only have a few clues.

He seems to be in the 1930 census in Murray Co., GA listed as Hubert PLACE[sic] (the only place and time I have been able to locate him in the census). He and Everett PLACE[sic] were both in the Georgia State Highway Penitentiary. Hubert is listed as age 28, married (at age 23), and born in GA, father born in NC, mother born in GA. Everett, age 23 and single, is listed as being born in GA and his parents also born in GA.

I don't know who he was married to at the time, but he is buried near Gennie Edna (CARROLL) PLESS who, according to my research was probably a later marriage (I think he was her 3rd or 4th husband). They are both buried in Murray Co., GA. The tombstone for Hubert states that he was born in 1901 and died in 1989.

I just found out that, according to the Murray Co., GA Death Index, his parents were named Emmett PLESS and Florence JONES, but I have not been able to locate this family anywhere on the census.

If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. Thanks so much!
