In 1825, an Edward and a Nathaniel Perry are shown as Tax Defaulters of 1 poll each in Capt. Blount's Dist. in Jones County. At the same time in the 1825 poll records, there was a William Perry (also 1 poll) who also lived in Capt. Blount's Dist. - shown at the time as holding 727 1/2 acres in Jones, 202 1/2 acres in Crawford, 101 1/2 acres in Monroe Co, and 500 acres in Early Co. GA. In March 1826, the estate of a William Perry (there were more than one in the early 1800s GA records) was inventoried, appraised, and probated in the adjacent Jasper Co. GA, with Edward and Nathaniel Perry named as the administrators. Among the list of buyers were Edward Perry, William Perry, Nathaniel Perry, A. Perry, Archibald Perry, and John Perry. And I need to learn how to step back from this older William Perry who died in Jasper Co. GA and/or learn how these families inter-relate. The William Perry living in Jones Co. GA in 1825 may be the same William Perry who bought items at the March 1826 Jasper Co. estate sale of the older Wm Perry, deceased. I would like to find proof that confirms or disproves these to be the same man, or identifies any relationship. The William Perry of Jones Co. first bought land in Jones in 1807, with later holdings in the other counties (listed above)- he also had sons named Archibald Perry, and John Perry, as well as several others. I believe the two William Perrys link together. I don't know if this was the Jones Co. William and sons were buying at the older William Perry person's Jasper Co. estate sale or if those were the people he named his sons after. I would like to find proof or leads to define how all these Perry men are/may be related, particularly to others not listed here, and to descendants who later moved to other central and western GA counties on the way to AL and other states to the West, especially into AL, Arkansas and Texas after the civil war. My Perry line had some members who lived in Monroe Co. GA, some on the land that had belonged to their father William Perry of Jones Co. GA. I believe the Perrys of Jasper, Jones, Monroe, Crawford, and Early Co. GA all came from the same ancestoral line. I would like to join forces with anyone researching any of these early Perrys, maybe we each have pieces of the puzzle. Notify Administrator about this message?
