I have been "back tracking" through the Georgia Census, a family of Crawford's that married into my Farmer family. I have managed to get back to the 1840 Monroe County Census by trying to track David Crawford (b: circa 1819), the father of William John Crawford (b: __ May 1841, Monroe Co., GA). I have found David and his name is spelled Crofford this time. My problem is that now I'm trying to figure out who David's parents were. Especially his father. There are 8 different Crawford/Crofford's found in the 1840 Monroe County GA Census. Only three of these are old enough to possibly be a parent to David. They are: 1. G. Crofford, Dist. 595, age 60-70 2. James D. Crofford, Dist. 595, age 50-60 3. W. W. Crofford, Dist. 573, age 50-60 If anyone is researching these 3 different Crawford/Crawford's, could you please help me with understanding who they were, and who their spouces & children were. So that you will know, the other 5 Crawford/Crawford's found in this same 1840 Monroe County GA Census were: 4. Nancy R. Crawford, Dist. 573, age 30-40 5. David Crofford, Dist. 573, age 20-30 (The one I'm tracking) 6. David S. Crofford, Dist. 496, age 20-30 7. Garland Crofford, Dist. 573, age 20-30 8. R. C. Crofford, Dist. 595, age 20-30 Thanks for your time & help! TJ Notify Administrator about this message?
