Following up on a very old posting. Take a look at the transcript of this letter I inherited for information on Chloe Bush, Wilson, Tabb and related families in Colquitt. Let me know if anything rings a bell. Thanks, Ann
Does anyone know these people? This letter is from Cloe Bush Wilson to my greatgrandfather, James Isom Ates.
3/11/1918 Well Jim as your Uncle Mart is writing I will see if you remember me as I am his daughterinlaw. I married his Billie and I was Cloe Bush. Do you remember going to school at Flat Creek to Mr. Jones? He was redheaded and when he whipped a boy he would take him across his knee. I have not forgot how bad you was. I have got a boy I very often call Jim Ates. We have 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls. We have been married 25 years last November. Do you remember Cousin Fuller Bush? He was peglegged but now he has an artifical leg. Now he is my father. If you remember there was me, Joe and Fletcher that went to school. Write and tell me how many that went to school do you remember. Fletcher got killed last Christmas was 15 years ago. Charlie has been dead 4 years this month. Write and tell me where you Uncle Jimmie is and is he still living. I wish you would come to see us all and let us see you. If you have a picture send it of your family. Do you remember you Aunt Ann, Nellie, Nan, Pete and Robert? They are all right here but Pete he is in Miss. somewhere. Did Josie ever marry? Nellie is still single but the rest is married. She is 38 years old. Her and your Aunt Ann is keeping house and Nellie sews for her living. We all would be glad to see you all so I will close for this time. Answer soon tell us how the war is out there. Give my love to your wife and children and also all of the family. Love to all your cousin Cloe Wilson, Colquitt, GA Route 7 #2.
