I think the 1870 census would have been taken long before December when you say Jabez Holder was married. From what I see on Rootsweb's WorldConnect site, his wife was Mary Elizabeth, not Mary Ella. He died in Calhoun Co., AL in 1911 and was apparently married 3 times.

Since these people appear to have stayed in Troup Co., I would be surprised if Mary Ella married in Haralson Co.
